Try these first

  1. Close and reopen Kindling. An unfinished import or draft picks up where it stopped.
  2. Check that your iPhone runs iOS 17 or later and has some free storage.
  3. If some photos live only in iCloud, connect to the internet and choose them again.
  4. If recording doesn't start, turn on Microphone access in iPhone Settings, under Apps, then Kindling.
  5. If Pro is missing, tap Restore purchases while signed in to the Apple Account that bought it.
  6. When you write to us, mention the app version, iOS version, iPhone model, roughly how many photos you chose, and the step where things went wrong.

Common questions

Is Kindling free?

Yes. Kindling is free on the App Store for iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Your first two trips get every core feature, including the map, Sparks, voice memories, search, and standard postcards. Kindling Pro is for saving more trips and for extra card styles.

Can I try Kindling without my own photos?

Yes. Tap Explore a sample first to open A Weekend in Lisbon and try the trail, map, Sparks, and sharing without selecting any personal photos.

Does Kindling need access to my whole photo library?

No. The iPhone photo picker hands Kindling only the photos and videos you choose. Kindling then keeps its own copies on your iPhone so the trail still opens if an original moves or goes offline.

Why is a date or place missing?

Some photos were saved without a date or location, and looking up a place name needs an internet connection. The import still works. Open the draft and fill in the date, place, grouping, or title yourself.

What happens to my original photos?

They stay exactly as they are in Photos. Removing a moment or trip deletes Kindling's copy along with its notes, recordings, and cards.

What do I get with Kindling Pro?

Unlimited trips, premium postcard and map styles, the option to remove Kindling branding from cards, and more control over postcards from your past. Pay monthly, yearly, or once for Lifetime. Apple shows the price for your country before you buy. If a subscription ends, every trip you saved stays in the app.

How do I restore or cancel a purchase?

Tap Restore purchases in Kindling's Settings. To cancel a subscription, open iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Kindling. For a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem page.

How do I export or delete my data?

Settings can prepare a JSON export of your trips and notes, clear temporary previews, or delete all Kindling data for good. To delete a single trip, use the More menu on that trip. Your originals in Photos are left alone either way.

What appears in a resurfacing notification?

The lock screen only says that a postcard is ready. You see the memory itself after opening Kindling. Moments you've marked sensitive, hidden, archived, or “Do not resurface” are never picked.
